Articles published in this issue are two first stages in an experiment in humbugization of anthropology: popularizing it through nontraditional research. First article deals with the analysis of the national mourning after the Polish presidential plane crash on 10th April 2010 as media event, defined by specific narrative pattern with ability to change the profane into the sacred for TV spectators. The second article draws from this interpretation to create a postmodern screenplay for an anthropological documentary. Both articles form an invitation to consider subversive ways of anthropological presentation and realize the final stage of this project – a film and, more broadly, a multi-medial hypertext.
Keywords: media event, performative anthropology, national mourning, popularization of anthropology, postmodern anthropology, nontraditional ways of anthropological representations.
